Living Waters Mission Trip

Three members of Collierville Presbyterian Church will be traveling to Honduras to help install water purifications systems through Living Waters for the World. Holly Harris, Zane Beaton and Dave Parks will depart May 1 for Honduras and will be part of the installment team. They will team up with folks from Advant Presbyterian and will be installing two systems on this trip (it is very unusual to install two systems on the same trip). We are hoping to collect $2400.00 to pay for the cost of one complete system. Please mark your check or envelope "Honduras" so we can insure it is designated for the water project.

  1. Good Luck Holly, Zane, and David. Our prayers are with you and all members of your team. May God keep you all safe as you spread clean water and live the Gospel to all those you will meet.

  2. Through the generosity of the members of Collierville Presbyterian Church, $2,400.00 was raised for one of the water purification systems that the team will install during their trip in May. The residents of Uracco Pueblo and Mealer in Honduras will soon have clean water.

  3. The plane Friday morning was delayed getting out of Memphis and so the group missed their connecting flight out of Atlanta. Delta put them up for the night and they got to have dinner with Spencer Harris! They had an uneventful 24 hours in Atlanta and finally arrived Honduras Saturday morning. Three volunteers from another church had their own transportation and arrived Friday and got a good start on prepping for the installations.

  4. Dave called Julie last night (Monday). They are doing well. Holly got switched into the same group as Zane and Dave, so all the CPCers are together. That's kind of neat since the Urraco plaque will have "donated by CPC" and all three of them will have contributed to that one. Dave said they'll be testing today (Tues) for leaks. They'll celebrate the clean water at Mealer Wed. afternoon, and at Urraco on Thursday morning. The whole group will be at each celebration. He did share it was really HOT! So, in spite of the late start, they are on schedule.

  5. Zane called at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday. I was away from my desk and missed the call, but the message he left said it was HOT and he planned to sit in the air-conditioned "phone" building for a few minutes before venturing back.

  7. Julie heard from Sarah, the spouse of a trip participant. She got a text from Doug. Sounds like the clean water celebrations went off well. They were at the resort, a "2.5 star" which beats where they were staying. Guess they had to use the sheets to keep the bugs off at night. Ugh. They'd only had it rain once, which was way different than the forecast said. So, that was good! We think that's how they were able to catch up so quickly from getting a late start. Tomorrow is San Isidro, where they were last year. Sounds like everyone is OK. I think they'll be ready to come home.

Zane called last night and said they were in the mountains and it was rainy. The hotel is a small step up from the one they had been staying in. He said it has been great but that it is time to come home. I agree.
